Darkness at noon

It could be the famous novel by Arthur Koestler, but far from that, Darkness at noon is the name which Avelino Sala has choosen to his new exhibition. Whenever I visit my family I try to spend sunday morning at the Asturias Fine Arts Museum . This time something really different caught my eyes. Instead of  famous Apostolado by El Greco , the first showroom was a piece of Asturias' industrial history. It was kind of sad realizing that all those beautiful pencil drawings had the same thing in common. They were showing the largest companies in our land which, nowadays don't exist anymore. Some of them are known ( Chupa Chups ), others weren't but factories of world companies ( Coca-Cola ), newspappers (La Voz de Asturias) , mining companies (Ensidesa) , family businesses ( Simago, Chocolates la Herminia, San Claudio, La Estrella de Gijón ) ...
